Rob Hesse, P.G.

Rob Hesse has over twenty years of experience conducting environmental site assessments. He is a registered Professional Geologist in California and has completed site assessments and investigations at a wide variety of light and heavy industrial facilities, including aerospace facilities, machining and manufacturing facilities, chemical plants, oil fields, commercial developments, and agricultural properties. Mr. Hesse has extensive experience in conducting environmental site assessment and characterization for facilities with extensive industrial land use history and environmental contamination issues. He has conducted site assessments and remedial investigations of properties contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons, heavy metals, chlorinated solvents, PCBs, dioxins/furans, pesticides, perchlorate, explosives, and a variety of other hazardous materials. His practice includes expert services for evaluating the quality, completeness, and performance of environmental site assessments conducted by third parties and standard of care.

Mr. Hesse has participated in numerous complex environmental litigation projects as a consulting expert and has prepared a wide variety of reports, presentations, and graphical exhibits for litigation planning, case development, in support of expert witnesses, and for purposes of mediation and trial. Mr. Hesse has also been named as a designated expert witness and has testified as an expert in several litigation cases involving subsurface contamination of groundwater and/or soil vapor and standard of care issues.

Mr. Hesse is an expert in data acquisition, environmental database management, geographic information systems (GIS), and development of customized software applications for complex environmental projects. Mr. Hesse has technical expertise in the preparation of demonstrative graphical exhibits for mediation and trial that include presentations in the form of projected images, displays, drawings, maps, three-dimensional models, and computer animations. Mr. Hesse has also participated as an expert in several nationwide class action settlements involving MTBE, PCBs and recently, PFAS contamination of public water systems.
