Rob Hesse, P.G.

Mr. Hesse has over 30 years’ experience providing environmental consulting and expert services to commercial, industrial, municipal, and legal clients. He has conducted numerous environmental site assessments, hydrogeological investigations, hazardous materials audits, pollution evaluations, and historical contamination reconstructions at a wide variety of sites ranging from agricultural properties to heavy industrial facilities to chemical manufacturing plants. Mr. Hesse has extensive experience evaluating the nature and extent of environmental contamination associated with petroleum hydrocarbons, heavy metals, chlorinated solvents, pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), and other pollutants such as perchlorate, 1,4-dioxane, 1,2,3-trichloropropane, and per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). In recent years, Mr. Hesse has served as a consulting or testifying expert on several large environmental cases to support clients on class action certification, mediation proceedings, settlements, and trial proceedings.

Mr. Hesse has extensive expertise in the research, acquisition and review of historical publications and records, regulatory agency case file documents, historical aerial photography, and other archival materials used for case development and establishing causation. He regularly serves as a consulting expert, data wrangler, and technical support specialist for attorneys and expert witnesses on complex environmental litigation. Mr. Hesse is also an expert on the evaluation and appraisal of environmental site investigations and remedial actions performed by third-parties and has testified on matters concerning standard of care. He has extensive experience in evaluating historical industrial processes and activities that led to releases and developing historical pollution assessments. Mr. Hesse also provides extensive technical assistance to clients for developing and managing environmental databases, geographic information systems, custom software applications, and demonstrative graphics and exhibits for mediation and trial purposes.
