Joyce Chen received her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at UCLA in the summer of 2010. She specialized in Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, and Transportation Engineering. At UCLA, she assisted in conducting research concerning watershed parameterization with the Hydrology and Water Resources Group in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Joyce completed the UCLA Geospatial Information Systems and Technology Certificate Program courses regarding use and application of geographic information systems (GIS) in the summer of 2010. Additionally, she received her Engineer-in-Training certificate from the California Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors in January 2010. At SWAPE, she has fieldwork experience with attic dust sampling. She currently conducts research, assists in preparation of reports and presentations, analyzes and reviews data, and performs SCREEN3 air modeling of pollutants.Joyce also models and analyzes the dispersion of pollutants in the ambient air through researching expert reports, meteorological stations, and industrial plants. She prepares figures used in environmental litigation.
